The theme of our meeting is “Time and the Other”
What is subjective time, and how does it affect us?
Let’s talk about our inner sense of time. How it can affect our ability to communicate, to meet and accept the Other.
By considering the concepts of Bergson, Buber, and Levinas, we will see how time affects our ability to perceive and understand others.
The three moduses of subjective time: past, present and future, are intertwined in our experience and perceived in different ways. In addition, in each particular period we emphasize one of the three, emphasize the past, present or future as the determinant of our life. And this choice turns out to be a condition for the possibility of meeting and communicating with the Other. The sense of time changes our settings for communication, changes the very language of our communication, and changes our attitude to another person.
